Theatre Technician Casual
Under the direction of the Venue Technician and/or Technical Operations Coordinator the casual Theatre Technicians assist in the setup and operation of the technical requirements of all live theatre productions. The role includes many duties in the backstage area including loading, lighting, sound, and mechanical.
Front of House Casual
Reporting to House Operations, the casual Front of House casuals are responsible for the safety, security comfort, and service of patrons. The role of Casual Front of House Staff member requires delivering a consistently high level of efficient and friendly customer service in all Glen Street Theatre venues and events. This may include:
- meet and greet patrons
- ticket check and usher patrons
- handle basic customer enquiries
- merchandise and ticket selling
- food and beverage service
- set up and pack down of the venue
You will have a solid understanding of customer service principles and the ability to communicate with a wide array of patrons. A current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate is required. Experience in venues, arts, and creative industries would be beneficial.
Ticketing Services Casual
Reporting to the Ticketing Services Coordinator, the Ticketing Services Casuals are responsible for the safety, security comfort, and service of the venue. Your role is to maximize and maintain the 'Glen Street' experience for patrons in an effective and efficient manner.
This role will operate the Box Office ticketing system including selling tickets, issuing refunds, ticket exchanges, updating patron data, and other duties as requested by the Ticketing Services Coordinator.
You will have a solid understanding of customer service principles and the ability to communicate with a wide array of patrons. Experience in ticketing software in venues, arts, and creative industries would be beneficial.

Work experience helps you make an informed decision about your career. A Glen Street Theatre work experience/placement allows students to gain an understanding of how Venue and Performing Arts sectors operate and provides opportunities to receive advice about pursuing a career in the arts industry. The type of activities the student participates in will depend on the type of placement and work area in which the student is placed.
