Following the success of Echoes of the Jazz Age, the two icons of Australia’s theatre and concert stages return for a literary and musical extravaganza.
One of Australia’s most acclaimed actors and directors, John Bell, has once again joined extraordinary classical pianist Simon Tedeschi for a delightful and entertaining concert - this time they are providing a sneak peek into life 'behind the curtain'.
John and Simon have decades of celebrated performances between them. In this new show, they take the audience into their confidence and share some wicked backstage stories from the Opera House to the Concert Hall, alongside some of their favourite pieces of poetry and music from recent years and their shows together, such as Bright Star, Enoch Arden and Echoes of the Jazz Age. With notes (both literary and musical) from Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Keats, Scott Fitzgerald and topped off with some sizzling jazz.
Don’t miss two of Australia’s best-loved artists in this surprise package of a production with something for everyone!
"...an epic tale of love lost, longing, devotion and loyalty, told with passion and warmth. The piano accompaniment was perfect... an enrapturing performance" The AU Review for Enoch Arden
“Bell’s poetry readings dovetailed Tedeschi’s stormy and lyrical Schubert offerings, which in turn, illuminated the similarly passionate outbursts and insights of Keats’ poetry. There were too many highlights to mention ..." Classic Melbourne for Bright Star
